1. Can I install a sliding door on any wall?
A sliding door requires a sturdy wall, as the weight of the door and the rail system must be properly supported. Therefore, installation on a plasterboard wall is not suitable. Do you have a doubtful case? Feel free to contact us; we are happy to think along with you.
2. Is the sliding door system included with the door?
Yes. With every STAUT steel sliding door, we include the rail system as standard. This ensures a perfectly fitting and stylish whole, with no surprises afterwards.
3. How much space do I need for a sliding door?
For a sliding door, you need sufficient clear wall space next to the doorway so that the door can slide open completely. In most cases, you need at least the width of the door + a few extra centimetres of clear wall on one side of the opening. Not sure if your situation is suitable? No problem. We are happy to help you assess whether a sliding door fits your space and wishes.
4. Can I install a steel sliding door myself?
Yes, you can. Our sliding doors are designed for easy self-assembly by the handy DIYer. We provide clear assembly instructions for each door type. If you prefer a complete hands-off experience or are unsure about the assembly, we recommend having the installation performed by a professional.
5. How do I determine the correct size for my sliding door?
Always measure after plastering and allow for sufficient overlap around the opening. For steel sliding doors, we recommend an overlap of at least 2.5 cm left and right and 3 cm at the top.
